codified as Section 12-10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, as the same may be now or hereafter amended,
when the need therefore shall become apparent.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 72 of
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "Fire Companies,"
as last amended by Chapter 23 of the Acts of the Special Session
of March, 1962, AND TO REPEAL SECTION 77G OF SAID
ARTICLE AND TITLE, SUBTITLE "FIRE TAX," AS ADDED
BY CHAPTER 759 OF THE ACTS OF 1957, to increase the
annual payment authorized to be paid to certain volunteer fire
companies AND TO REPEAL AN OBSOLETE RESTRICTION
RELATING TO FIRE COMPANIES in St. Mary's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 72 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "Fire
Companies," as last amended by Chapter 23 of the Acts of the Special
Session of March, 1962, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, AND TO REPEAL SECTION 77G OF SAID
ARTICLE AND TITLE, SUBTITLE "FIRE TAX," AS ADDED BY
CHAPTER 759 OF THE ACTS OF 1957, ALL to read as follows:

72.

The County Commissioners are authorized to pay annually from
general county funds to each active volunteer fire company in St.
Mary's County a sum not exceeding [$2,500.00] $5,000.00 per com-
pany; provided, however, that no part of said sum shall be distributed
to any fire company to be formed in the future, which has not been
approved by the St. Mary's County Fire Board.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.
