(House Bill 661)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 13-17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick County (1959 Edition,
being Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Frederick County," subtitle "Part I. General Local Laws,"
subheading "Chapter 13. Roads and Public Grounds," to repeal
the provisions relating to compensating the Frederick County Com-
missioners on the County Roads Board, and to increase the attend-
ance pay of the other members of the County Roads Board, and to
change the mileage allowance of Board members.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 13-17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick
County (1959 Edition, being Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick County," subtitle "Part I.
General Local Laws," subheading "Chapter 13. Roads and Public
Grounds," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
13-17.
Each [appointed] member of the county roads board, except the
county commissioners, shall be paid the sum of [five] ten dollars per
meeting for actual attendance at regular or duly called special meet-
ings [for purposes of covering expenses incidental to such attendance.
The county commissioners shall each be paid from the funds of the
county roads board the sum of one thousand, two hundred dollars an-
nually, as compensation for their services on the board, such sum to
be in addition to the compensation allowed them as county commis-
sioners, as well as one thousand six hundred dollars annually toward
traveling and other expenses in connection with their duties as
members of the county roads board]. Each such member of the
county roads board, when acting in his official capacity as a member
of such board, shall receive traveling expenses at the established rate
[of ten cents] per mile [, in addition to the sums provided by this
section].
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965 JANUARY 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 412
(House Bill 677)
AN ACT to create a Howard County Public Works Study Commission
to study the governmental organization of public works in Howard
County, to provide for the appointment and qualifications of its
members, to require it to report promptly, and to provide funds
for the purposes of the Commission.
