(House Bill 363)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 24 (g)
of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle
"Employment of Minors," to allow waiver of physical examination
upon presentment of a certificate from any age minor's family
doctor.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 24 (g) of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Work Labor and Employ-
ment," subtitle "Employment of Minors," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
24.
(g) Physical examinations may be waived [in the case of minors
16 and 17 years of age] as required by subsection (c), of this section,
provided, they present a certificate from the minor's family physician
attesting to the physical fitness of the minor for the occupation to be
undertaken.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 23 (d) of
Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle "Em-
ployment of Minors," to remove requirement of personal appear-
ance by parent, guardian or legal custodian of 14-15 year old minor
to present application for minor's employment certificate.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 23 (d) of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Work, Labor and Employ-
ment," subtitle "Employment of Minors," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
23.
(d) Certificates shall be issued in Baltimore City only by the
Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry and in the
counties by the Commissioner or by some person designated in writ-
ing by the Commissioner. Employment certificates for minors 14
and 15 years of age shall be issued only upon application [in person]
of the parent, guardian or legal custodian of the minor or if the
