Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 371
(House Bill 7)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 159 to 166A, inclusive, of Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement),
title "Elections," subtitle "House of Representatives," and to enact
in lieu thereof new Sections 159 to 166A, inclusive, to stand in the
place of the sections so repealed, revising the several congres-
sional districts in this State for the election of representatives in
the Congress of the United States, creating a new Eighth Con-
gressional District, and relating generally to the boundaries of the
several Congressional Districts in this State and to the election of
representatives to fill these offices.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 159 to 166A, inclusive, of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Elec-
tions," subtitle "House of Representatives," be and they are hereby
repealed, and that new Sections 159 to 166A, inclusive, be and they
are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the sections
so repealed, and all to read as follows:

159.

The State of Maryland is divided into eight districts for the
choosing of eight Representatives in the House of Representatives
of the Congress of the United States. The Districts are numbered re-
spectively from one to eight, and each is entitled to choose one Repre-
sentative in the House of Representatives. All references in this
subtitle to election districts and wards are to the boundaries of such
election districts and wards as they were on January 1, 1965.

The First Congressional District is composed of the counties of
Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Harford, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset,
Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester.

The Second Congressional District is composed of those portions
of Baltimore County within the boundaries of Election Districts 1, 2,

4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.
