or not this section shall apply to the board of county commissioners
of the respective counties by appropriate resolution: Carroll, Dor-
chester, Frederick, Prince George's, Worcester, Washington and
Wicomico. The tax collector for the first tax collection district of
Allegany County is hereby authorized and directed to act as the
agent of the Commissioner of Motor yehicles in the registration of
motor vehicles and trucks, as specified in this section; provided, how-
ever, that the fee of fifteen cents and other revenues received by
said collector for the issuance of the plates shall be paid to the County
Commissioners of Allegany County and all said monies shall be
placed in a general fund of the county. The county treasurers of
Anne Arundel County, Cecil County, Somerset County, Calvert
County, Harford County and Garrett County are hereby mandatorily
directed to act as the agent of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles
in the registration of motor vehicles of the Class A passenger or
pleasure type and to issue metal plates or markers as hereinabove
prescribed.

(d) Effective with the passage of this section, each treasurer shall
be authorized to collect an additional ten cent fee, provided, how-
ever, that such additional charge is authorized by the county com-
missioners, or county council or of the respective counties or the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City, and that all additional
fees collected under this subsection shall be remitted to the general
funds of the county or city. Provided, however, that the treasurer of
Harford County shall be authorized to collect an additional $1.00
fee which shall be remitted to the funds of the county for use as a
special highway and road improvement fund.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(House Bill 1015)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 264 (a)
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "I. Crimes and Punish-
ments," subheading "Gaming," to provide for the disposition of
cash seized in connection with any violation of the gaming laws
in Harford County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 264 (a) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "I.
Crimes and Punishments," subheading "Gaming," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

264.

(a) Whenever any money, currency or cash shall be seized or
captured by any police officer in Allegany, Carroll, Cecil, Garrett,
