CHAPTER 41
(House Bill 65)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 17 of
Article 95 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Treasurer," amending the law concerning the count-
ing, examining and recording of State bonds and coupons that have
been redeemed and paid in order to correct an error therein.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 17 of Article 95 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Treasurer," be and it is hereby
repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows:
17.
The Treasurer of the State shall count, examine, and record all
State of Maryland bonds and coupons that have been or may hereafter
be redeemed and paid by the State fiscal agent and returned by him
to the treasury. [Biennually] Biennially the Comptroller and the
Treasurer, or their deputies, shall after verification by the State
Auditor, and in the presence of the State Auditor or his assistants,
cremate or burn all of said bonds and coupons which have been re-
turned up to the close of the last preceding fiscal year. Appropriate
cremation certificates, attested to by the State Treasurer, the State
Comptroller, and the State Auditor, showing the amount of bonds and
coupons so destroyed, shall be entered on the records of the State
Treasurer, and copies shall be filed with the presiding officers of the
two houses of the General Assembly.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(Senate Bill 76)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 16-22,
inclusive, of Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County", sub-title "Audit
of Accounts", Sections 16, 17 and 18 of which were amended by
Chapter 296 of the Acts of 1945, generally amending the local laws
of Caroline County concerning the appointment, compensation, and
duties of the accountant and relating also to the accounts, vouchers,
books and papers of certain officers and agencies of Caroline
County which shall be audited and examined.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 16-22, inclusive, of Article 6 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County",
