CHAPTER 37
(House Bill 18)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 39 of
Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"General Assembly," subtitle "Legislative Council," amending the
law with respect to the expenses and maximum expenditures of the
Legislative Council.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 39 of Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "General Assembly," subtitle "Legislative Coun-
cil," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
39.
[The total expenses of the Legislative Council shall not exceed
forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00).] The maximum expenditures of
the Legislative Council shall be as provided in the budget from time
to time.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 31)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 702 (d)
and 703 (d), (f) and (g) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to change the manner
of issuing and display and the form of the license number required
for boats dredging oysters in the Chesapeake Bay and in the waters
of certain counties of the State, and to change requirements for
attachment of the license number to oyster dredge boats.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 702(d) and 703(d), (f), and (g) of Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

(d) The Department of [Tidewater Fisheries shall have painted in
black figures on white canvas one number corresponding to the
