stitute sufficient evidence of title to any motor vehicle so sold, in
order to enable any such purchaser to obtain a certificate of title
and registration from the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of
Maryland.

(d) After payment of the expenses of any sale held pursuant to
this section and the amount of storage and repair charges incurred
by the county on account of the motor vehicle or part thereof sold
at such sale and after payment of all liens filed against the motor
vehicle or part thereof, the balance, if any, received by the county
at any such sale shall be held by the Director of Public Works for
a period of one year from the date of such sale. The Director of
Public Works shall pay such balance to any person who shall file
his verified claim prior to the expiration of such year establishing
that he is the owner or person entitled to the possession of such
motor vehicle. If no such claim is filed within such period, the balance
shall be transferred to the general funds of the county.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 280
(House Bill 511)

AN ACT to add new Section 34 (d) to Article 101 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Workman's
Compensation," subtitle "Application of Article; Extra-Hazardous
Employment," to follow immediately after Section 34 (c) thereof,
and to provide for election by fire companies in Carroll County to
have its paid members AND/OR ITS PAID EMPLOYEES covered
by the Workmen's Compensation Laws and to provide for pay-
ment of premiums on behalf of such members.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 34 (d) be and it is hereby added to Article 101 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Workman's Compensation," subtitle "Application of Article; Extra-
Hazardous Employment," to follow immediately after Section 34 (c)
thereof, and to read as follows:

34.

(d) In Carroll County any volunteer fire company may elect to
have its paid members
AND/OR ITS PAID EMPLOYEES con-
sidered as workmen for wages under the provisions of this article by
making application to and receiving the approval of the County
Commissioners, and the company so electing shall provide for pay-
ment of premiums on behalf of its members to be covered by this
Article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
