(a) Vocational or industrial art shops or laboratories involving
use of or [expose] exposure to:
(1) Hot molten metals;
(2) Milling, sawing, turning, shaping, cutting, or stamping of
any solid materials:
(3) Heat treatment, tempering, or kiln firing of any metal or
other materials;
(4) Gas or electric arc welding;
(5) Repair or servicing of any vehicle;
(6) Caustic or explosive materials;
(b) Chemical or combined chemical-physical laboratories involv-
ing caustic or explosive chemical or hot liquids or solids; is required
to wear industrial quality eye protective devices at all times while
participating in such courses or laboratories. Any [public] such
school may furnish such device for (pupils) students and teachers,
and [shall] may furnish such equipment for all visitors to such
classrooms or laboratories. Any [public] such school may purchase
such devices in large quantities and sell them at cost to pupils and
teachers.
The phrase "industrial quality eye protective devices," as used
in this section, means devices meeting the standards of the American
Standard Safety Code for Head, Eye, and Respiratory Protection,
Z2.1-1959, promulgated by the American Standards Association,
Incorporated.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(House Bill 542)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 429 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Harford County (1957 Edition, being
Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Harford County," subtitle "Notices—Legal," as last amended by
Chapter 680 of the Acts of 1916, to remove the requirement that
legal notices required to be published be published in newspapers
the physical printing of which is done in Harford County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 429 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford County
(1957 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Harford County," subtitle "Notices—Legal," as
last amended by Chapter 680 of the Acts of 1916, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
