Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 916
(House Bill 32)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 700 (d)
AND (H), 702 (c), and 703 (d) AND (E) of Article 66C of the An-
notated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," and to add a new Section
705A to the said Article and subtitle of the Code, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 705 thereof, to require licensing of certain
persons engaged in the business of buying oysters from persons
taking or catching oysters and to license certain oyster buy boats,
vessels and vehicles, to fix the fees and terms of such licenses and
to provide for disposition of fees, and to change license fees for
the taking of oysters by tonging or dredging, and correcting the
references therein to the former Department of Tidewater
Fisheries.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 700 (d) AND (H), 702 (c) and 703 (d) AND (E) of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that a new
Section 705A be and it is hereby added to the said Article and subtitle
of the Code, to follow immediately after Section 705 thereof, and
to read as follows:

700.

(d) Upon taking the oath described in subsection (c) of this
section, either before the clerk of court or a notary public, and upon
receipt of a license fee of [three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50)]
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) TWELVE DOLLARS ($12.00) and
twenty-five cents as clerk's fee, the clerk of the circuit court of the
county wherein the applicant resides shall issue a tonging license
authorizing the person licensed to take or catch oysters with tongs
or patent tongs, subject to the further regulations or restrictions
provided in this subtitle.

(H) AFTER SUBTRACTION OF THE CLERKS' FEE, ALL
MONEYS RECEIVED BY CLERKS OF THE CIRCUIT COURTS
SHALL BE PAID BY SAID CLERKS TO THE COMPTROLLER
OF THE TREASURY TO BE CREDITED TO GENERAL FUNDS.

702.

(c) Upon the receipt of such application, and upon making such
oath, the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs [Department of
Tidewater Fisheries] shall issue a Chesapeake Bay dredging license
for such boat and shall receive therefor [two] four dollars [($2.00)]
($4.00) per gross ton for every gross ton said boat shall measure;
