Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 155 (q) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Bever-
ages," subtitle "Boards of License Commissioners," be and is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

155.

(q) In Prince George's County each of the members of the board, ex-
cept the chairman thereof, shall receive an annual salary of two thou-
sand dollars ($2,000.00), and the chairman thereof shall receive an an-
nual salary of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). The Clerk of the
Board who [shall be the clerk of the Board of County Commissioners]
shall be appointed by and serve at the will of the board and who
shall devote full time and attention to the duties of the board shall
receive an annual salary to be determined and fixed by the board of
[one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00)] not less than nine
thousand dollars ($9,000.00), but in no event to exceed twelve
thousand dollars ($12,000.00) TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
($10,000.00) as clerk of said license board; the attorney for
the board shall receive an annual salary of three thousand six
hundred dollars ($3,600.00), and said attorney for the board shall
receive no other compensation or fees for the performance of his
duties or for services performed for or on behalf of the Board in-
cluding representing the Board in any appeal from rulings of the
Board, and the said Board shall be authorized to appoint a secretary
to the clerk to the Board who shall receive an annual salary of [six
hundred dollars ($600.00) ] not to exceed four thousand eight hun-
dred dollars ($4,800.00) and to expend such additional sum or sums
as may be necessary, not exceeding [two hundred and fifty dollars
($250.00)] two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per annum, to cover
printing and other expenses, The Board is further authorized to
employ, promote, demote and terminate the employment and fix the
salary of such other staff including technical, clerical and other per-
sonnel as it may deem necessary. The County Commissioners are
authorized and directed to appropriate and levy annually a sum suffi-
cient to pay the salaries of the personnel employed by the Board.
The Board of County Commissioners is authorized to provide the
Board with adequate office space.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
