CHAPTER 880
(House Bill 157)

AN ACT relating to The Maryland-National Capital Park and Plan-
ning Commission and the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan
District; to amend Section 22 of Chapter 780 of the Laws of 1959,
as amended by Chapter 596 of the Laws of 1961 and Chapter 738
of the Laws of 1963, by the addition of a new subsection there-
under, said new subsection to be lettered (g), the purpose of this
Act being to include within the Maryland-Washington METRO-
POLITAN District certain additional areas within Prince George's
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 22 of Chapter 780 of the Laws of 1959, as amended by
Chapter 596 of the Laws of 1961 and Chapter 738 of the Laws of
1963, is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection there-
under, said new subsection to be lettered (g) and to read as follows:

22 (g) 1965 Addition in Prince George's County.—The boundaries
of the Metropolitan District are extended by the addition thereto of
the following described areas, which said areas shall hereafter be-
come integral portions of the Metropolitan District:

1.   All of the Laurel Election District ( No. 10), excepting there-
from, however, the Town of Laurel, as its corporate limits are now
described. AND THAT AREA SURROUNDING THE SAID TOWN
WHICH IS DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING FOR THE
SAME AT THE INTERSECTION OF BROCK BRIDGE ROAD
AND MD. ROUTE 197 RUNNING WITH THE CENTERLINE OF
BROCK BRIDGE ROAD NORTHEASTERLY TO THE PA-
TUXENT RIVER AND THENCE NORTHERLY AND WESTERLY
WITH THE PATUXENT RIVER (COUNTY LINE) TO THE
LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF LAUREL PRESENTLY EXCLUDED
FROM THE APPLICATION OF THIS SUBSECTION, THENCE
WITH THE EASTERLY, SOUTHERLY AND WESTERLY
LIMITS OF SAID TOWN AS THE SAME HAVE BEEN ESTAB-
LISHED BY LAWS IN EFFECT BEFORE THE PASSAGE OF
THIS SUBSECTION, TO THE PATUXENT RIVER, THENCE
WESTERLY WITH THE PATUXENT RIVER (COUNTY LINE)
TO THE INTERSECTION OF THE RIVER AND THE CENTER-
LINE OF THE RIGHT OF WAY SELECTED FOR CONSTRUC-
TION OF PROPOSED ROUTE I-95, THENCE WITH THE CEN-
TER-LINE OF SAID RIGHT OF WAY SOUTHWESTERLY TO
CONTEE ROAD, THENCE EASTERLY WITH CONTEE ROAD
TO MD. ROUTE 197 AND THENCE SOUTHEASTERLY WITH
MD. ROUTE 197 TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.

2.  That portion of the Queen Anne Election District (No. 7) which
is located to the north of the John Hanson Highway (U.S. Route 50),
and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a
point where the centerline of the John Hanson Highway (U.S. Route
50) intersects the easternmost boundary of Prince George's County
in the Patuxent River and running thence in and with the said
County line, and River, in a northerly direction to its point of inter-
section with the boundary line of that portion of the Maryland-
