CHAPTER 862
(House Bill 904)

AN ACT to add new Section 5A to Article 21 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Conveyancing," subtitle "Con-
veyances In General," to follow immediately after Section 5 thereof,
to require all deeds conveying a right of way or easement to a
public utility, public agency or department of the State of Mary-
land to contain an accurate and definite description or metes
and bounds as well as a reference to the liber and folio wherein
the servient land was conveyed and a recitation of the grantors,
grantees and the date of said reference deed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 5A be and it is hereby added to Article 21 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Conveyancing,"
subtitle "Conveyances In General," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 5 thereof, and to read as follows:

5 A.

After June 1, 1965, all deeds conveying a right of way or easement
to a public utility, public agency or a department of the State of
Maryland shall contain an accurate and definite description by metes
and bounds as well as a reference to the liber and folio wherein the
servient land was conveyed and a recitation of the grantors, grantees
and the date of said reference deed if they are to be recorded as
herein required.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to add new Section 712A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," sub-
title "Oysters and Clams," to follow immediately after Section 712
thereof, to authorize the issuance of licenses to take or catch hard
shell clams by means of dredges in the waters of Pocomoke and
Tangier Sounds, to generally regulate the issuance of such licenses
and the taking of clams by this means, AND SPECIFYING THE
PERIOD DURING WHICH THIS ACT REMAINS EFFECTIVE.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 712A be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams," to follow immediately
after Section 712 thereof, and to read as follows:

(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 712 of this Article,
