CHAPTER 765
(House Bill 916)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 155 (c)
and 158 (d)(2) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages,"
subtitle "Boards of License Commissioners," increasing the salaries
of the chairman and members of the Board of License Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County, directing the employment by said
Board of additional inspectors, clerks and an attorney, and fixing
their salaries AND RELATING TO THE EXPENSES, ALLOW-
ANCES AND SALARIES OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES AND
OFFICERS OF THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 155 (c) and 158 (d) (2) of Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Al-
coholic Beverages," subtitle "Boards of License Commissioners," be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

155.

(c) In Anne Arundel County the chairman of the board of license
commissioners shall receive annually as salary not more than [eight
hundred dollars ($800.00),] one thousand two hundred dollars
($1,200.00),
said sum to include all expenses incurred by him; each
other member of the board shall receive annually as salaries not
more than [seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00),] one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00),
plus reimbursement for expenses reasonably
incurred by them.

158.

(d)(2) In addition to the powers given to the board of license
commissioners for Anne Arundel County in subsections (a) and (b)
of this section, the board [is authorized to employ not more than
two (2) inspectors and to fix their
compensation and travel expenses

subject to the approval of the State Comptroller.] shall employ a

full time chief inspector, at an annual salary of $5,500, a full time

inspector at an annual salary of $4,200, a part-time inspector at an

annual salary of $3,800, and two assistant inspectors, at annual

salaries of $2,100 each. The five inspectors so appointed for Anne
FOUR PART TIME INSPECTORS AT AN ANNUAL SALARY
OF $3,600 EACH, PLUS REIMBURSEMENT FOR TRAVEL EX-
PENSES REASONABLY INCURRED BY THEM, SUBJECT TO
THE APPROVAL OF THE STATE COMPTROLLER. THE FOUR
INSPECTORS SO APPOINTED FOR ANNE Arundel County shall
have all the powers of a peace officer or a constable or sheriff of
the State of Maryland, and shall make oath to faithfully perform
the duties entrusted to them, as provided in Article 1, Section 6 of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland, and shall furnish bond
in the penalty of two thousand dollars ($2,000.) to the board of
license commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the Board of
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County jointly, conditioned
