Such amount shall be paid to him simultaneously with his [base
pay] salary. Any increase or decrease in base pay SALARY, received
in any month by reason of promotion, demotion or otherwise shall be
taken into account in determining the longevity pay receivable by any
such employee and, in figuring the same, the 4% or multiple or
multiples thereof, as the case may be, shall be taken of the increased
or decreased base pay SALARY. In calculating longevity pay for those
who are police employees of the Department on May 4, 1943, the years
of service rendered by each such employee to the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles and/or to the Department prior to the beginning of
the fiscal year ending in 1944 and to the Department thereafter shall
be taken to account.

(e) Every police employee retired on pension under the pro-
visions of this article shall be paid a pension determined by using
his annual remuneration, and all contributions made by such police
employee to the pension fund of said Department snail be made
from said annual remuneration. "Annual remuneration," as used in
this article shall mean [base pay] salary plus the longevity pay
herein provided for.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 749
(Senate Bill 55)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 96 (b) of
Article 75 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supplement),
title "Pleadings, Practice and Process at Law", sub-title "Bases
of Personal Jurisdiction Over Persons Outside This State", to add
verbage inadvertently omitted to restrict causes of action to be
brought against persons over whom jurisdiction is obtained by
virtue of his participation in certain activities within the State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 96(b) of Article 75 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "Pleadings, Practice and Process at Law",
sub-title "Bases of Personal Jurisdiction Over Persons Outside This
State", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

96.

(b) When jurisdiction over a person is based solely upon this
section [.] , only a cause of action arising from acts enumerated in
this section may be asserted against him.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
