(b) (1) The following "Campaign Contribution Receipt" shall be
issued by the treasurer or subtreasurer to each person or treasurer
of a committee or group or organization of persons making a con-
tribution of ten dollars ($10.00) or more, or upon request for any
lesser amount, to the candidate, political committee, or State or local
central committee of which he is treasurer or subtreasurer:

(2)    If such contribution is received by a subtreasurer, he shall
forward the duplicate copy of the "Campaign Contribution Receipt"
with his report to the treasurer of the candidate, political committee,
or State or local central committee for which he is subtreasurer, as
required by Sections 223 and 223A of this Article.

(3)    The treasurer shall retain all "Campaign Contribution Re-
ceipts" with his books and records as required by Section 222(a) of
this Article and report the information therein in the statement of
contributions and expenditures required by Sections 223 and 223A
of this Article.

(4) The "Campaign Contribution Receipt" issued to a contributor
shall serve as evidence of a contribution by such contributor.

[(b)] (c) Any money or other thing of value received from any
unknown person or source by any treasurer or any [political agent]
subtreasurer, or other persons or committee authorized to incur obli-
gations or to pay or defray obligations or expenses under the pro-
visions of this article, shall not be used for any political purpose
whatsoever, but shall be paid by the treasurer, [political agent] sub-
treasurer,
or other persons or committee so receiving the same, to
the Treasurer of the State of Maryland.

223.

(a) The treasurer designated by a candidate for nomination or
election or by a State or local central committee shall file the report or
statement of contributions and expenditures as prescribed in Section
223A of this Article with the clerk of the circuit court of the county
in which the candidate or treasurer resides, except that the report
