amending the local laws of Harford County in order to correct an
error in the law concerning certain reports made by pawnbrokers
doing business in Harford County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 434 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1957 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title "Pawnbrokers",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

434.

(a) Each and every pawnbroker, doing business in Harford
County shall cause to be written in a legible and accurate manner
on forms supplied by the Sheriff of Harford County, [and] a list
of articles taken on pledge and to forward the same daily to the
Sheriff of Harford County. The above reports made to the Sheriff
shall be open to the inspection of such persons as, in the discretion of
the said Sheriff, may be regarded as having an interest in the same.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

Approved March 11, 1965.

CHAPTER 102
(Senate Bill 134)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 264 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 27. Free schol-
arships", amending the law concerning the award of certain
scholarships to Peabody Institute in the City of Baltimore, in
order to correct an omission therefrom with reference to the
award of such scholarships in Harford County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 264 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 27.
Free Scholarships", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

264.

One student from each senatorial district in the counties of this
State and two students from each senatorial district in the City of
Baltimore shall be educated free of charge for tuition at the Peabody
Institute of the City of Baltimore. No student shall hold any such
appointment for a period longer than four years. Each student
accepting such an appointment shall pursue a curriculum at the
institution leading to a regular teacher's certificate in the public
school system of Maryland. Each student receiving such an appoint-
ment shall give bond to the State of Maryland, in such amount and
with such security as may be approved by the State Scholarship
Board that he or she will teach in the public schools of this State
