Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT to add new Sections 233A, 236 (h) and 237 (q) to Article
81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission", to follow
immediately after Sections 233, 236 (g), and 237 (p) respectively,
providing for additional monies to be used by the office of the
Supervisor of Assessments, in Prince George's County, for the
administration of said office and specifically to hire clerical and
technical employees for the office, and stipulating that said addi-
tional employees shall be placed under the County Merit System,
and prescribing the pay scale or grade of said Merit System under
which they are to be paid.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 233A, 236 (h) and 237 (q) be and they are hereby
added to Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion) , title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State Tax Commission",
to follow immediately after Sections 233, 236 (g), and 237 (p) there-
of respectively, and all to read as follows:
233A. In Prince George's County for the purpose of supplement-
ing the cost of assessment records, and generally to assist the County
assessors in the annual assessment review and in the administration
of their office as required by Section 233 of this sub-title, the County
Commissioners shall levy a sum of not less than $135,000 per annum
for the year beginning July 1, 1965, and $67,500 for the half year
beginning July 1, 1966. The said sums shall be used for employment
of additional clerical and technical help and for other expenses inci-
dent to assessment of real property in said County, provided that
such clerical and technical help shall be employed through the usual
County Merit System procedures, after consultation with the Super-
visor of Assessments.
236. (h) EFFECTIVE AS OF JULY 1, 1965, Prince George's
County shall levy and pay a sum equal to the amounts prescribed for
Grade A-14 of the Prince George's County Merit System, but the
portion of said salary to be paid by the State shall be limited to 60%
of the amount required to be paid to a Supervisor of Assessments in
Class B counties, according to the applicable scale of the Maryland
State Employees Standard Salary Scale as provided for above in
this section.
237. (q) EFFECTIVE AS OF JULY 1, 1965, Prince George's
County shall levy and pay a sum equal to the amounts prescribed by
the Prince George's County Merit System for Grade A-13, to the
Assistant Supervisor of Assessments; Grade A-12 to the Field Super-
visor of Assessments; Grade A-11, to all Senior Assessors; Grade
