be and they are hereby added to the said Article, and subtitle of the
Code, to follow immediately after Sections 322 and 323 thereof, and
that Section 2 of Chapter 792 of the Acts of 1957 and Chapter 479
of the Acts of 1959 be and they are hereby repealed, all to read as
follows:
316.
(b) In the case of an applicant for a certificate of qualification
who has been duly licensed according to the laws of another state
to practice the occupation of a barber, service as an apprentice shall
be waived and the applicant shall be entitled to apply promptly for
a certificate of qualification. Every person from another State who
after June 1, 1965, desires to become engaged in the occupation of a
barber in this State shall be required to furnish evidence satisfactory
to the Board that he is of good moral character; has successfully
completed at least eight years of primary education; and that he
has successfully completed a course of twelve hundred (1200) hours
in an accredited barber school in another State.
318.
(c) Every person who after June 1, 1957, becomes engaged in
the occupation of a barber in this State shall first register with the
Board as an apprentice and pay a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for
such registration and shall serve as such apprentice for at least
two years before he shall be entitled to take the examination for a
certificate of qualification as a barber. Any person who has been
registered with the Board as an apprentice as provided herein for a
period of greater than two years shall be required to renew his
registration by paying an additional fee of five dollars ($5.00) for
each additional period of one year for which he is registered as an
apprentice after the first two years of registration as an apprentice.
Every person who after June 1, 1965, desires to become engaged
in the occupation of a barber in this State shall be required to
furnish evidence satisfactory to the Board that he is of good moral
character; has successfully completed at least eight years of primary
education; and that he has successfully completed a course of
twelve hundred (1200) hours in a barber school licensed and ac-
credited under this Subtitle,; OR THAT HE HAS COMPLETED
AT LEAST TWELVE HUNDRED (1200) HOURS OF INSTRUC-
TION COMBINING THEORY AND PRACTICAL SUBJECTS
UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A MASTER BARBER DULY
LICENSED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.
318B.
(b) The permit authorizes the student to attend a barber school
and to receive not less than [nine hundred (900) hours] twelve hun-
dred (1200) hours of instruction combining theory and practical
subjects. It authorizes the student to perform barbering work at
the school and at no other place, for which he shall not receive
remuneration.

(a) After any person has successfully completed a course of not
less than [nine hundred (900) hours] twelve hundred (1200) hours
of instruction at a barber school licensed and accredited under this
