Nothing herein contained shall limit or impair any right to exercise
the power of eminent domain which may be vested in any gas storage
company by any other law.

695M.

Nothing herein contained shall directly or indirectly, either by
implication or otherwise, repeal, amend, alter, render null and void,
or otherwise affect any other law or laws of the State of Maryland
or its political subdivisions relating to the underground storage of
gas,
OR THE POLLUTION OF UNDERGROUND WATERS.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That, if any provision, phrase,
or clause of this Act or the application thereof to any person or cir-
cumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or un-
constitutionally shall not affect other provisions, phrases, clauses,
or application of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid
provisions, phrase, clause, or application, and to this end the pro-
visions, phrases, and clauses of this Act are declared to be severable.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 713
(House Bill 357)

AN ACT to add a new Section 47 to Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Cumulative Supple-
ment), title "Merit System," to follow immediately after Section
46 thereof, to provide that all unclassified employees of the
Department of Public Buildings and Grounds in Annapolis, Di-
vision of Operation and Maintenance, as of July 1, 1965, shall be
included in the Classified Service of the State, subject to satis-
factorily completing a six (6) months' probationary period.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 47 be, and it is hereby added to Article 64A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Cumula-
tive Supplement), title "Merit System," to follow immediately after
Section 46 thereof, to read as follows:
