(Senate Bill 383)

AN ACT to add a new Section 9 (59) to Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where", to follow immediately after Section 9 (58) thereof, pro-
viding a tax exemption , FOR PURPOSES OF COUNTY AND
LOCAL TAXATION ONLY, for the real and personal property
owned by the Maryland Ornithological Society, Inc. , OR ANY
CHAPTER THEREOF.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 9 (59) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supple-
ment), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "What Shall Be Taxed
and Where", to follow immediately after Section 9 (58) thereof and
to read as follows:

9(59). Property, FOR PURPOSES OF COUNTY AND LOCAL
TAXATION ONLY, PROPERTY real and personal, owned by the
Maryland Ornithological Society, Inc. , OR ANY CHAPTER
THEREOF.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 708
(Senate Bill 414)

AN ACT to authorize the creation of a State debt in the aggregate
amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) for the purpose of
aiding in the construction of a Science Center for the Maryland
Academy of Sciences, subject to the requirements that the said
Maryland Academy of Sciences, on or before June 1, 1967, shall
have obtained from other public or private sources at least an
equal and matching sum for the same purpose, and further subject
to the providing by the City of Baltimore or any other political
subdivision of a suitable site for the center; and providing gen-
erally for the issue and sale of certificates of indebtedness evi-
dencing this loan.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed
to issue a State loan to be known as the "Maryland Academy of
Sciences Loan of 1965", in the aggregate sum of Two Million Dollars
($2,000,000.00).

The certificates evidencing said loan may be issued all at one time
or, in groups, from time to time, as hereinafter provided. All of
