of Dorchester County shall not be in excess of the face amount of
one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 25
(Senate Bill 37)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 184 of
Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", as said section was last amended by Chapter 584 of
the Acts of 1963, to change provisions for the payment of expenses
to the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 184 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", as said section was last amended by Chap-
ter 584 of the Acts of 1963, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

184. Each of the County Commissioners taking office after the
general election held in 1962 shall receive an annual salary of two
thousand dollars ($2,000) and each commissioner shall receive in
addition for the years 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1966 only, the sum of one
thousand dollars ($1,000) each for expenses. Beginning with the
term of office following the general election in 1966, each of the Coun-
ty Commissioners shall receive an annual salary of three thousand
dollars ($3,000). [In addition each Commissioner shall be reimbursed
for actual expenses incurred by him in the performance of his duties,
other than the expenses of his travel between his residence and the
office of the County Commissioners. Before being entitled to reim-
bursement, each Commissioner shall file an itemized voucher sworn
to by him to be just and correct before some person authorized to ad-
minister oaths who shall affix his certificate of oath to the voucher.]
Beginning with the year 1967, each Commissioner shall receive in
addition to the annual salary provided above, the sum of one thousand
dollars ($1,000) annually for expenses.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
