Acts of 1955; Sections 262, 266, 273, 274, 275, 276, 277 and 284C of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1963
Supplement—hereinafter referred to as "the Code"), title "Public Edu-
cation," subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships"; to repeal Sections 260,
261, 263, 264, 265, 267, 268, 272, 280, 281, and 282 of Article 77 of the
Code, title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholarships,"
and to enact new Sections 260, 261, 263, 264, 265, 267, 268, 272, 280, 281
and 282 in lieu thereof, said new Sections to stand in the place of the
Sections so repealed; to add new Sections 268A and 268B to Article 77
of the Code, title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 27. Free Scholar-
ships," to follow immediately after Section 268 thereof, to add a new
Section 284 to Article 77 of the Code, title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 27. Free Scholarships," to follow immediately after Section 283
thereof; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Subsection (e) of Sec-
tion 284H of Article 77 of the Code, title "Public Education," subtitle
"Chapter 27A. State Scholarship Board"; to repeal or amend certain
provisions of the law contained in the Code and/or in certain uncodified
acts, said provisions being inconsistent with or superseded by more re-
cent enactments or enactments elsewhere in this act on the subject of
State scholarships, or being inconsistent with the purposes of State
scholarships generally; to make certain changes in the provision of scholar-
ships to certain of the institutions and/or the apportionment of these schol-
arships among the several senatorial districts of the State; and enacting
generally more uniform and consistent provisions determining the terms
and values of the various scholarships and the conditions and procedures
by which these scholarships shall be awarded and held, and making pro-
vision for certain appropriations with respect thereto.
