NARIAN; OR (3) ON WHICH HUNTING DOGS, ARE HOUSED,
IF THE BUYING, SELLING, TRADING OR BREEDING IS IN-
CIDENTAL TO THE MAIN PURPOSES OF HOUSING, KEEP-
ING AND USING DOGS. IN BALTIMORE CITY THE PROVI-
SIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL BE ENFORCED BY THE
BALTIMORE CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

CHAPTER 32
(Senate Bill 11)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 675, 677,
and 681 (c) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963
Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", subtitle "Depart-
ment of Correction", subheadings "Commissioner of Correction"
and "Industries Director", respectively, to correct errors in the
laws relating to the powers of the Commissioner of Correction, to
the submission of receipts and disbursements of the Department
of Correction to the Comptroller, and to State Use Industries.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 675, 677, and 681(c) of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1963 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", subtitle "Department of Correction", subheadings "Com-
missioner of Correction" and "Industries Director," respectively, be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

675.

The Commissioner may summon witnesses before him and admin-
ister [orders] oaths or affirmations to them if in his judgment that
is necessary or wise for an effective administration of his duties.
Any person failing to appear before him as required by a summons,
or refusing to testify, is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof is subject to a fine of not more than fifty dollars; and false
swearing or testimony on the part of any such witness is perjury
and punishable as such.

677.

The Commissioner of Correction, within thirty days after June 30,
in each year, shall transmit to the Comptroller of the State [and] an
accurate, detailed statement of all receipts and disbursements of the
Department during the year ending on the thirtieth of June pre-
ceding.

681.

(c) The Department of Correction as funds are made available
may equip the penal and reformatory institutions of the State of
