(House Bill 20)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 315(c)
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963 Supple-
ment), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles
Upon Highways," to establish several categories of maximum
allowable gross weights for tractor trailer vehicles according to
the number of axles of such vehicles.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 315 (c) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1963 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation
of Vehicles Upon Highways," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

315.

(c) The gross weight of any motor vehicle or combination of
vehicles may not exceed [73,280 pounds] the following weights:

Vehicles or combinations with not more than

three axles ..............................................50,000   55,000 pounds

Vehicles or combinations with four axles..........    65,000 pounds

Vehicles or combinations with five axles............    73,280 pounds.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
