policy and work priorities. The Committee shall consist of six mem-
bers, appointed by the Governor for terms of four years each. The
members shall have knowledge of and interest in shore erosion.
Three members of the Committee shall reside on the Eastern Shore,
two shall reside on the Western Shore and the Chairman shall
represent the State at Large. Of the members first appointed, two
shall be appointed for a term of one year each; two for a term of two
years each; one for a term of three years; and the chairman for a
term of four years; and thereafter all terms shall be for four years.
The members of the committee shall receive a per diem or such ex-
penses as may be provided in the annual state budget. The Com-
mittee shall meet at least four times annually and at such other
times as the Committee shall designate.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 123 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Public Education", subtitle "Chapter 8, Teachers' Certifi-
cates, Salaries and Pensions", subheading "Teachers' Retirement
System", amending the Teachers' Retirement System Laws re-
lating to assignments.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 123 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Public Education", subtitle "Chapter 8, Teach-
ers' Certificates, Salaries and Pensions", subheading "Teachers' Re-
tirement System", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
123.
The right of a person to a pension, an annuity, or a retirement al-
lowance, to the return of contributions, the pension, annuity or re-
tirement allowance itself, any optional benefit or death benefit, any
other right accrued or accruing to any person under the provisions
of this subtitle, and the moneys in the various funds created by this
subtitle, shall not be subject to execution, garnshment, GARNISH-
MENT, attachment, or any other process whatsoever, and shall be
unassignable.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
