the General Construction Loan Act of 1960, extending for a period
of two years from the effective date of this Act the time within
which the University of Maryland may contract to expend funds
made available to it by Section 5 (0) (2) in said Chapter 86 for the
acquisition of land for expansion of the Baltimore campus and as-
sisting the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore in defraying the
costs of redevelopment in the area in which any land shall be ac-
quired for such expansion, and for the acquisition of other land
and properties for the Baltimore campus (3rd step in campus ex-
pansion), and relating generally to certain powers and authority
of the University of Maryland in connection with the General Con-
struction Loan Act of 1960 as amended by Section 2 of Chapter 110
of the Acts of 1962.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8 of Chapter 86 of the Acts of 1960, as amended by
Section 2 of Chapter 110 of the Acts of 1962, is amended to the extent
necessary to renew the provisions thereof for a period of two years
from the effective date of this Act with respect to Section 5 (0) (2)
in said Chapter 86 and found on page 239 of The Laws of 1960, mak-
ing available to the University of Maryland the sum of $1,450,000 for
the acquisition of land for expansion of the Baltimore campus and
assisting the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore in defraying the
costs of redevelopment in the area in which any land shall be acquired
for such expansion, and for the acquisition of other land and proper-
ties for the Baltimore campus (3rd step in campus expansion), and
relating generally to certain powers and authority of the University
of Maryland in connection with the General Construction Loan Act
of 1960 as amended by Section 2 of Chapter 110 of the Acts of 1962.
Except as specifically provided otherwise in this Section, the provi-
sions of Section 8 of Chapter 86 of the Acts of 1960, as amended by
Section 2 of Chapter 110 of the Acts of 1962, are not changed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

(House Bill 246)

AN ACT to add new Sections 103A to 103E, inclusive, to Article 41
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Gover-
nor—Executive and Administrative Departments," to follow im-
mediately after Section 103 thereof and to be under the new sub-
title "Charitable Organizations," to regulate the solicitation of
funds by charitable organizations in this State, with exceptions,
and providing penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 103A to 103E, inclusive, be and they are hereby
added to Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion) , title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments,"
