in this sub-title outside of the area of the Patuxent River water-
shed plan, if the county commissioners, or their duly designated
agencies, find, within the [exercises] exercise of their discretion
that such acquisitions are necessary to preserve any portion of the
Patuxent River watershed plan in their respective counties. The
county commissioners, or their duly designated agencies, are author-
ized to expend any funds which under the provisions of this sub-
title are authorized to be expended for the purposes enumerated
herein for the purchase of lands authorized by this section to be
acquired by the county commissioners, or their duly designated
agencies, outside of the area of the Patuxent River watershed plan.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 244 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963 Supple-
ment), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 25. Miscel-
laneous", to correct an error in the law relating to county boards
of education, school trustees, and the state superintendent of
schools.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 244 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1963 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 25.
Miscellaneous", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

244.

Wherever the words "superintendent of public education" occur in
this title, they shall be construed to mean State Superintendent of
Schools; wherever the words "board of county school commissioners"
occur, they shall be construed to mean "county board of education" ;
wherever the words "board of district school trustees" occur, they
shall be construed to mean "district board of school trustees."

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
