shall be reduced for any scholastic year in ratio to any of the allot-
ted scholarships which either are not awarded or are not actually
held for that scholastic year.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

(Senate Bill 71)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 154 (d)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963 Supple-
ment), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Depart-
ments", sub-title "Commissioners for Uniform State Laws",
increasing the annual appropriation of the State of Maryland
to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State
Laws.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 154(d) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1963 Supplement), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments", sub-title "Commissioners for Uniform State Laws",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
154.
(d) The said Board may, out of its annual appropriation, con-
tribute to the expenses of the National Conference of Commissioners
on Uniform State Laws such sum as they may think proper, not
exceeding, however, [eight hundred and fifty dollars ($850.00)]
thirteen hundred dollars ($1,300.00) A YEAR.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

(Senate Bill 77)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 134 (b)
and (c) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Motor Vehicle Finan-
cial Responsibility", raising the amount of proof of financial
responsibility required of taxicabs not operating under a permit
of the Public Service Commission and commercial motor vehicles
for hire.
