is hereby added to the said Article and sub-title of the Code (1957
Edition), to follow immediately after Section 298 thereof, and to
read as follows:

298A.

The sale, barter, peddling, exchange, dispensing or supplying of a
narcotic drug to a minor, in violation of any provision of this sub-
title, shall be deemed a felony, and any person found guilty thereof
shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) and shall
be imprisoned for not less than five nor more than twenty years.

300.

(a)  Any person who violates the provisions of Sections 277, 291
or 295 of this sub-title with regard to any narcotic drug specified in
Section 276 herein shall be guilty of a felony, and upon conviction
shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) and shall
be imprisoned for not less than two or more than five years. For a
second offense, or if, in case of a first conviction of violation of the
aforesaid sections, the offender shall previously have been convicted
of any violation of the laws of the United States or of any other
State, territory or district relating to narcotic drugs or marihuana,
the offender shall be fined not more than two thousand dollars
($2,000) and be imprisoned not less than five or more than ten years.
For a third or subsequent offense, or if the offender shall have been
convicted previously two or more times in the aggregate of any
violation of the laws of the United States or of any other State,
territory or district relating to narcotic drugs or marihuana, the
offender shall be fined not more than three thousand dollars ($3,000)
and be imprisoned not less than ten or more than twenty years.
Except in the case of a conviction for a first offense the imposition or
execution of sentence shall not be suspended and probation or parole
shall not be granted until the minimum imprisonment provided
herein shall have been served.

(b)  Any person who violates any of the provisions of this sub-title,
other than those referred to in sub-section (a), with regard to any
narcotic drug specified in Section 276 herein, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not more than one
thousand dollars ($1,000) and shall be imprisoned for not less than
two or more than five years.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
