(House Bill 843)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Subsection (d) of
Section 1561P of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County," subtitle
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District," said Subsection being
Subsection (d) of Section 73-42 of the Montgomery County Code
(1960 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Montgomery County," subtitle "Washington
Suburban Sanitary District," as said Subsection was enacted by
Chapter 785 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1959, relating to the authority of the Washington Suburban Sani-
tary Commission to construct water mains and sewer lines through
the Calvert Manor Subdivision in the Washington Suburban Sani-
tary District so as to serve areas outside or beyond said Subdivision.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Subsection (d) of Section 1561P of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County," subtitle "Washington Suburban Sanitary District," said
Subsection being also Subsection (d) of Section 73-42 of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1960 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County," subtitle
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District," as said Subsection was
enacted by Chapter 785 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
(d) The Commission may construct water mains and/or [sewerage
mains] sewer lines through the area known as Calvert Manor [along
Farmington Road] as required to provide service to adjacent areas
or to any other area, and the Commission shall not levy any charges
against Calvert Manor property owners for said through construction
unless service is provided to any property within the subdivision at
the request of the owner thereof or until a system is constructed in
the subdivision upon the request of 51% of the residents thereof as
provided for by Subsection (c) of this Section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
