(House Bill 823)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 245 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries," subhead-
ing "Part 1. General Provisions," relating to the prohibition against
nets or other obstructions to the access of fish in streams of the
State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 245 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and
Fisheries," subheading "Part 1. General Provisions," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
245.
It shall be unlawful to place any net or other obstruction at the
mouth of any creek, cove or inlet so as to impound any fish and pre-
vent them from having free passage to and from such waters; or to
obstruct any stream [above where the tide ebbs and flows] so that
the fish shall not have free access up and down the stream, except
where dams are erected and fish ladders maintained under the pro-
visions of this subtitle.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 249 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries," sub-
heading "Part 1. General Provisions," relating to the offense of
taking or carrying away fish nets or gear used in fishing belonging
to another person.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 249 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and
Fisheries," subheading "Part 1. General Provisions," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
