Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 263 (e) be and it is hereby added to Article 66C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries," subheading "Part 2. Tidal
Waters," to follow immediately after Section 263 (d) thereof, and
to read as follows:
263.
(e) It is unlawful for any person to install, use, operate, or main-
tain within any tidal waters of this State any monofilament gill net
webbing of any description for the purpose of catching fish, and it
is unlawful to take fish by any such means or with such gear.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 66A of
Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
1962 Supplement), title "State Roads Commission," subtitle "Duties
and Powers," providing that the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles
may approve as snow tires those tires which meet certain require-
ments, but are not normally designated as snow tires by the manu-
facturer, so that a vehicle equipped with such approved snow tires
may travel on a State emergency snow route when a snow emer-
gency is in effect.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 66A of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "State Roads Commis-
sion," subtitle "Duties and Powers," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
66A.
The State Roads Commission, after securing the approval of the
members of the governing body of the county affected, is hereby
authorized to designate such State highways as it deems appropriate
as "emergency snow routes" and such highways when so designated
shall be appropriately signed. After the highways have been desig-
nated and signed, and a snow emergency declared as hereinafter
prescribed, it shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle to travel or
attempt to travel upon such highway unless it is equipped with chains
or unless both rear wheels are equipped with snow tires. For the
purpose of this section snow tires shall mean those tires which are
normally designated by the manufacturer as snow tires or such tires
as may be approved by the [Superintendent of the State Police]
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles as meeting the Standards of effec-
tiveness required of normally designated snow tires, and shall be in
