(House Bill 895)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 196 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County (1957
Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," to increase the annual appropriations by the County
Commissioners of Washington County to the Washington County
Free Library.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 196 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle "County
Commissioners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

The County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the "Washington
County Free Library," whereby they shall contract to contribute
annually the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) per annum
for the care and maintenance of the said "Washington County Free
Library." In addition to the above amount, the said Commissioners
are hereby authorized, in their discretion to appropriate and con-
tribute an additional amount not exceeding [Fifty-Five Thousand
Dollars ($55,000)] Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000) annually for
the care and maintenance of said Library.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 476 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edi-
tion, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Prince George's County," subtitle "County Regional
District," correcting an error in the law relating to the levy of
taxes in the County Regional District of Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 476 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County," subtitle "County
Regional District," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:
