CHAPTER 441

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 339, 340,
341, 343, 345, 349, 355, 367, and 370 of Article 20 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset
County," subtitle "Revenue and Taxes," Section 343 thereof hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 254 of 1939, and Section 367 thereof
having been amended by Chapter 274 of 1947; to repeal Sections
351, 353, 361, 362, and 364 of said Article and subtitle, Section 364
thereof having been amended by Chapter 376 of the Acts of 1933;
AND TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS,
SECTION 3 OF CHAPTER 761 OF THE ACTS OF 1943, AS
AMENDED BY CHAPTER 360 OF THE ACTS OF 1957 AND BY
CHAPTER 458 OF THE ACTS OF 1957; amending the local laws
of Somerset County having to do generally with revenue and taxes
and with particular respect to the removal therefrom of obsolete
and outmoded provisions concerning assessments, tax sales, and
the collection of revenue; removing Somerset County from the list
of those counties to which the so-called Statewide Tax Sales Act
does not apply, and thereby making the Statewide Tax Sales Act
applicable in Somerset County, and relating generally to the Trea-
surer and to assessments, revenue, tax collections, and tax sales
in Somerset County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 339, 340, 341, 343, 345, 349, 355, 367, and 370 of
Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Somerset County," subtitle "Revenue and Taxes," Section
343 thereof having been amended by Chapter 254 of the Acts of
1939, and Section 367 thereof having been amended by Chapter 274
of 1947, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments; and that Sections 351, 353, 361, 362, and 364 of said Article
and subtitle, Section 364 thereof having been amended by Chapter
376 of the Acts of 1933, be and they are hereby repealed; and that
Section 3 of Chapter 761 of the Acts of 1943, as amended by Chapter
360 of the Acts of 1957 and by Chapter 458 of the Acts of 1957, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and all
to read as follows:
339.
The Treasurer of Somerset County shall be the collector of all
State taxes and of all county taxes for whatsoever purposes levied
or to be levied, for or within said county during the term of his office,
or that may be placed in his hands for collection, and he shall have
full power and it shall be his duty to receive and collect all State and
county taxes levied, [as aforesaid, after this Act shall take effect,]
and so put in his hands for collection, and all moneys which may be
due said county, with full power to enforce the payment of the same
by sale or otherwise, as hereinafter prescribed, and to convey title
to any real or personal estate sold by him for the payment of State
and county taxes in the manner prescribed by the succeeding sections
[; and all taxes levied in said Somerset County after the 1st day of
January, 1910, for State and county purposes, shall be collected by
the County Treasurer].
