which are included as part of the original purchase price of the
property involved, the tax shall be at the rate of $1.10 for each
$1,000.00 or fractional part thereof of the principal amount of the
debt secured.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 421
(House Bill 1044)
AN ACT to add a new subsection (d) to Section 84 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Howard County (1957 Edition, being Article
14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Howard
County," subtitle "County Treasurer," requiring property owners
who pay taxes after their property has been once advertised for
failure to pay taxes to pay all costs that have been incurred in
preparing such property for sale.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new subsection (d) be and it is hereby added to Section 84
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County (1957 Edition,
being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Howard County," subtitle "County Treasurer," and to read
as follows:
84.
(d) No property owner may redeem his property which has once
been advertised for sale for failure to pay taxes unless, in addition
to taxes, interests and penalties due, he shall also reimburse the
County for any and all expenses incurred in the advertising, survey-
ing, appraising and otherwise preparing the property for the pro-
posed sale.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 1098)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 7-36,
7-37, 7-39, and 7-40 of the Baltimore County Code (1958 Edition),
title "Title 7," subtitle "Article II. People's Court.", to provide
for an additional judge of the People's Court of Baltimore County
to be designated "Substitute Judge" and to provide for his com-
pensation and duties.
