AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELEC-
TIONS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY WITH THE CONSENT OF
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THEREOF TO ARRANGE
WITH A MUNICIPAL CORPORAtion or a special tax area
therein to include local referendum questions on the ballot or vot-
ing machine labels and providing generally for the procedure
applying to any such arrangements.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 16A be and it is hereby added to the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Gen-
eral Powers and Duties of Supervisors of Elections", to follow
immediately after Section 16 thereof, and to read as follows:
THAT A NEW SECTION 207 BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED
TO THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF WASHINGTON
COUNTY (1957 EDITION, BEING ARTICLE 22 OF THE CODE
OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF MARYLAND), TITLE "WASH-
INGTON COUNTY", SUB-TITLE "ELECTIONS", TO STAND IN
THE PLACE OF THE SECTION 207 IN THAT CODE WHICH
WAS REPEALED BY CHAPTER 205 OF THE ACTS OF 1959,
AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
16A. 207. The Board of Supervisors of Elections in any county of
this State OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, with the consent of the
Board of County Commissioners or County Council in OF the county,
may arrange with the appropriate officials of any municipal corpora-
tion or of any special tax area within the county to include munic-
ipal or tax area referendum questions on the ballot or voting
machine labels being used for any county or State election. These
questions may then appear on the ballots or voting machine labels
so that they may be voted upon only by residents of the particular
municipal corporation or special tax area. An agreement made under
this section may include provision for the payment by the municipal
corporation or special tax area of a portion or all of the cost of con-
ducting the referendum and tabulating the votes; and any moneys
paid to a county under such an agreement shall be credited to the
general funds of the county. The several boards BOARD of super-
visors of elections and the boards BOARD of county commissioners
and county councils may provide for the details and procedures for
giving effect to the provisions of this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal Section 38 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Allegany County (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-
title "Building Permits", and to enact a new Section 38 in lieu
thereof, to stand in the place of the section so repealed, revising
the provisions concerning building permits in Allegany County
