CHAPTER 366
(Senate Bill 395)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (j) of
Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement),
title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's
Attorney", providing that in Dorchester County the County Com-
missioners shall pay the reasonable expenses of the State's At-
torney's office and providing for appointment and compensation
for a temporary Assistant State's Attorney.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (j) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact",
sub-title "State's Attorney", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(j) In Dorchester County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is
forty-five hundred dollars ($4,500.) and the County Commissioners
shall pay the other reasonable expenses of his office, including rea-
sonable rent.

(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for clerical expenses is two
thousand dollars ($2,000); and his allowance for secretarial serv-
ices is twelve hundred dollars ($1,200).

(8) The State's Attorney may from time to time, if deemed wise
or necessary, with the approval of the Judge of the Circuit Court
of Dorchester County, appoint a temporary Assistant State's At-
torney for a particular case or series of cases and may fix his com-
pensation.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

land (1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub title "General Powers
and Duties of Supervisors of Elections", to follow immediately
after Section 16 thereof, authorizing the Board of Supervisors of
