126. (a) Notwithstanding any provisions of this article, in Balti-
more County, the Clerks of the Magistrate's Courts are responsible
for all monies, dockets, drawing of warrants, disbursing money to
the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and the county government, and
all other administrative duties which heretofore have been the re-
sponsibility of the Trial Magistrate. Henceforth, the Trial Magis-
trates in Baltimore County will be responsible only for the actual
trying and disposing of cases. Said clerks shall give bond with cor-
porate surety conditional upon the proper performance of their du-
ties in such amount as the County Executive shall determine, the
premium of which shall be paid by Baltimore County; and hence-
forth the Trial Magistrates in Baltimore County shall be relieved of
their obligation to furnish bond.
(b) The County Executive of Baltimore County shall appoint a
Chief Clerk for the Trial Magistrate system in Baltimore County.
The Chief Clerk's salary shall be set by the County Executive of
Baltimore County. The Chief Clerk shall be responsible for setting
up systems of bookkeeping and records for the Trial Magistrates'
clerks in the county and shall act as a roving auditor to assure that
the accounts and records of all clerks are accurately maintained and
accounted for properly.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 576 and
577 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commis-
sioner", sub-heading "Physicians to the Police Force", amending
the Local Laws of Baltimore City with respect to the appointment,
qualifications and duties of the several physicians appointed to
serve the Police Department of Baltimore City. AND REVISING
CERTAIN OBSOLETE PROVISIONS THEREIN.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 576 and 577 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of
Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police
Commissioner", sub-heading "Physicians to the Police Force", be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
576. The Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore shall
appoint and commission biennially [two men and two women] four
physicians of integrity and capacity, residents of [Baltimore City,]
the State of Maryland, and whose principal office is located in Balti-
more City, and who shall have practiced medicine therein for at
least three years next preceding the date of their commissions, whose
