tered by a nonprofit agency or organization for use on one day in
any calendar year.
AND FOR SUCH DAY OF OPERATION THE
OWNER OF THE BUS SHALL PROVIDE TO THE CHARTER-
ING AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION A CERTIFICATE OF IN-
SURANCE MEETING THE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY RE-
QUIREMENTS OF THIS ARTICLE. When operating a school bus
for any purpose other than the scheduled operation of transporting
pupils between home and school or to or from any school activity,
the operator of the bus shall cover the school bus license plate as well
as all markings on the bus indicating it to be a school bus. The
Department of Motor Vehicles shall issue a distinctive plate to be
used on buses operating on a schedule for the transporting of pupils
between home and school or to and from any school activity.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(Senate Bill 304)

AN ACT to add new Section 130A to Article 11 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Banks and Trust Com-
panies", sub-title "Bank Collection Code", to follow immediately
after Section 130 thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Section 94 of Article 13 of the said Code (1957 Edition
and 1962 Supplement), title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory
Notes", SUB-TITLE "NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS LAW",
sub-heading "Chapter VII—Presentment for Payment", to change
the place of presentment of items presented to a bank for pay-
ment*; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECT OF THIS ACT

IN THE EVENT OF THE ENACTMENT OF CHAPTER ............

(SENATE BILL 77) AT THE 1963 REGULAR SESSION OF
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 130A be and it is hereby added to Article 11 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Banks and Trust
Companies", sub-title "Bank Collection Code", to follow immediately
after Section 130 thereof; and Section 94 of Article 13 of the said
Code (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Bills of Exchange
and Promissory Notes", SUB-TITLE "NEGOTIABLE INSTRU-
MENTS LAW", sub-heading "Chapter VII—Presentment for Pay-
ment", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and all to read as follows:

Article 11

130A. For all purposes of this sub-title, where a bank presents
for payment an item drawn upon or payable at another bank, either
(i) through a clearing house, or (ii) at a place where such other
bank has requested such bank to make presentment of such items for
payment, the presentment of such item shall be deemed to have
been made at a proper place.
