CHAPTER 24
(Senate Bill 52)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 140, 141 and 142 of Article 5 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert
County", sub-title "Elections", repealing certain obsolete and un-
necessary local laws of Calvert County relating to the conduct of
elections therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 140, 141 and 142 of Article 5 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-
title "Elections", be and they are hereby repealed, as follows:

[140. It shall not be lawful for any person in Calvert County to
carry, on the days of election and primary election, within three
hundred yards of the polls, secretly or otherwise, any gun, pistol,
dirk, dirk-knife, razor, billy or bludgeon; and any person violating the
provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof by the Circuit Court for Calvert County,
or before any justice of the peace in said county, shall be fined not
less than ten nor more than fifty dollars for each offense, and on
refusal or failure to pay said fine, shall be committed to the jail of
the county until the same is paid.]

[141. The fines collected under the preceding section shall be paid
by the officer collecting the same to the School Commissioners of the
county for school purposes.]

[142. Any constable of said county, or the sheriff thereof, who
shall refuse to arrest any person violating Section 140, upon in-
formation of such offense, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof before the Circuit Court for Calvert County,
shall be fined not less than fifty nor more than one hundred dollars,
and shall, in the discretion of the court, be discharged from office.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 25
(Senate Bill 53)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 143A of
Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-title "Installation of Electrical
Apparatus and Wiring", as said section was enacted by Chapter
553 of the Acts of 1933, amending the laws concerning the Board
of Electrical Examiners and Supervisors for Calvert County in
order to remove certain obsolete and unnecessary provisions
therefrom.
