CHAPTER 242
(Senate Bill 227)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108 of
Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Conveyancing", sub-title "Miscellaneous", providing that the
use of a lot of ground for multiple family use constitutes a busi-
ness use and denning multiple family use.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108 of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Conveyancing", sub-title "Miscellaneous", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
108.
The provisions of Chapter 485 of the Acts of 1884 of the General
Assembly of Maryland, and the provisions of Chapter 395 of the
Acts of 1888 of the General Assembly of Maryland, and the provi-
sions of Chapter 207 of the Acts of 1900 of the General Assembly
of Maryland, were not intended to apply and do not apply to leases
or subleases of property leased exclusively for business, commercial,
manufacturing, mercantile or industrial purposes, as distinguished
from residence purposes, where the term of such lease or subleases,
including all renewals provided for therein, shall not exceed ninety-
nine years, provided that a lease of property improved or to be
improved by a group of single family dwellings or one lot or parcel
or by apartments or other buildings for multiple-family me ON ONE
LOT OR PARCEL constitutes a business and not a residential pur-
pose. The term "multiple-family use", for purposes of this section,
shall not apply to DUPLEXES OR single-family structures con-
verted to multiple-dwelling units.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 243
(Senate Bill 232)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 150, 151
(a) and (b) and 152 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "State Board of Vet-
erinary Examiners", to add new Sections 151 (d) and (e), 152A,
152B and 152C and 156 (d) to said Article and sub-title of the
Code, to follow immediately after Section 151 (c), 152 and 156 (c)
thereof, to change the method of selection of Board of Veterinary
Examiners, and rules relating to their terms, to revise laws under
the jurisdiction of the State Board of Veterinary Medical Exam-
iners relating to the licensing and regulation of veterinarians in
the State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
