Any fees to which the Sheriff or his deputies are entitled under
the provisions of this article in the performance of any duties im-
posed by law shall be turned over to the office of the Sheriff to be
used solely to defray the expenses of that office.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 225
(House Bill 53)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 223 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Elections," subtitle "Corrupt Practices," providing that a
copy of the election report be filed with the Secretary of State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 223 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Elections," subtitle "Corrupt Practices," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to
read as follows:
223.
Every treasurer, political agent or candidate for nomination or
election to public office shall within twenty days after the primary,
general or special election make out and file with the clerk of the
circuit court of the county or city in which the treasurer or political
agent or candidate resides, a full, true and itemized statement or
report in writing setting forth in detail all contributions and ex-
penditures. The statement or report shall comply with all of the
requirements of Section 224. And IN THE CASE OF A CANDIDATE
ELECTED BY THE VOTERS OF THE STATE AT LARGE, OR
REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS, AN exact copy of the state-
ment or report shall be filed with the Secretary of State of the State
of Maryland, at his duly constituted office, at the same time and in
the same manner as is provided in Section 224 and elsewhere in this
Article. BY HIS SAID TREASURER, POLITICAL AGENT OR
THE SAID CANDIDATE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1963.
