in Caroline County for the issuance of certain alcoholic beverage
licenses in the categories known generally as Class B (on sale)—
hotels and restaurants and Class C (on sale) for clubs and relating
generally to the licenses for and the sale of alcoholic beverages in
such establishments in Caroline County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 19 (d-1) and 20 (e-1) be and they are hereby
added to Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1962 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer,
Wine and Liquor Licenses", to follow respectively after Sections 19
(d) and 20 (e) thereof; and Section 19 (n) and Section 20 (n) of
said Article and sub-title be and they are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and all to read as follows:

19.

(d-1) In Caroline County bona fide hotels having twenty-five or
more bedrooms located under one roof within the corporate limits of
a municipality, originally constructed for hotel purposes, being at
least three (3) stories in height with an assessed value for land and
improvements of not less than Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00),
regularly serving meals and complying with the provisions of this
article, upon the payment of an annual license fee of One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00), shall be entitled to serve liquors, wines and beers
between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 A.M. on the day following,
except on Sunday when no sales shall be allowed; and provided further,
that no sale of liquor as provided herein shall exceed one quart and
no sales shall be made at bars or counters, nor for consumption off
the hotel premises.

(n) Such licenses shall only be issued in Baltimore City, and Anne
Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Garrett,
Harford, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Talbot,
Washington, Wicomico and Worcester Counties.

20.

(e-1) In Caroline County such a license may be issued to a bona
fide non-profit country club, yacht club, or veterans organization
composed solely of members, which club or organization operates
solely for the use of its own members and their guests accompanied by
such members; provided such club or organization meets in a club
house that is used for no other purpose and that such club has one
hundred or more bona fide members paying such dues as were re-
quired in the year immediately preceding the year for which such
license is issued; and provided in the case of organizations composed
exclusively of members who serve in the armed forces of the United
States, which are affiliated with a national organization, such a
license may be issued if the club has fifty or more bona fide members
paying such dues as were required by its national organization in
the year immediately preceding the year for which such license is
issued. The annual fee for a license issued under this sub-section
shall be Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00).

(n) Such licenses shall only be issued in the City of Baltimore, in
Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Caroline, Cecil, Frederick,
Garrett, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's,
