of same for the previous calendar year. In the event any of the above
Departments maintains its books on a fiscal year basis, then said
financial report shall be submitted within thirty (30) days from the
end of its fiscal year.

121C.

In the event any one of the Fire Departments in Charles County
ceases to be an active fire-fighting organization, or if the funds pro-
vided for herein are not used for the purposes set forth in Section
121, then the County Commissioners of Charles County shall cease
paying to that Department the funds provided for in Section 120
and said funds shall be held by the County Commissioners and dis-
tributed proportionately among the Departments assuming coverage
of that area.

121D.

In the event any one of the Fire Departments in Charles County
fails to comply with the standards of the Charles County Volunteer
Firemen's Association, then the funds allocated to said Department
by the County Commissioners
BOARD shall be withheld by the
County Commissioners of Charles County until said Department has
complied with the standards of said Association. In the event the
said Department does not comply with the standards of the Charles
County Volunteer Firemen's Association within six (6) months from
the date that the Department receives notice from the County Com-
missioners
BOARD of its failure to comply with said standards, then
the funds allocated to that Department or Departments shall be dis-
tributed proportionately among the companies assuming coverage
of that area.

122.

The County Commissioners of Charles County may appropriate

such funds as are collected pursuant to Section 120 hereof, and any

other funds as they deem necessary for the purposes set forth in

Section 121 to any additional fire departments which may be formed
in areas approved by the Charles County Firemen's Association. The

County Commissioners shall have the authority, after recommenda-
tion by the said Firemen's Association, public hearing, and appro-
priate ordinance, to vary or
modify any distributions so as to pro-
vide for such additional companies.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THE
BOARD ESTABLISHED IN SECTION 120 (C) OF THIS ACT
SHALL TAKE OFFICE AS OF JULY 1, 1963, BUT UNTIL JULY
1, 1965, SHALL ACT ONLY IN AN ADVISORY CAPACITY. IT
SHALL, PRIOR TO JULY 1, 1965, REVIEW THE PROBLEM OF
FINANCING THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND RESCUE
SQUADS AND SHALL MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN 1965 WITH REGARD TO SOLU-
TIONS TO SUCH PROBLEMS.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

June 1, 1963.

SEC. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT SECTION
1 OF THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 1965, AND
