Anne Arundel County under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan
Transit Authority and to increase thereby the number of members
of the Authority and to provide for appointment and tenure of
members of the Authority from the County, changing the quorum
of the Authority required for transaction of business, and making
other changes in the Metropolitan Transit Authority required
because of the inclusion of Anne Arundel County within the juris-
diction of the Authority.

AN ACT TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS,
SECTIONS 2(B), 2(F), 5(A), 5(C), 5(E), 5(I), 6(A), 6(B),
7(O), 7(R), 7(T), 10(E), 10(H), 12(C), 13, 14(C), 14(I), AND
14 (N) OF ARTICLE 64B OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF
MARYLAND (1962 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "METROPOLI-
TAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY"; TO REPEAL SUBSECTION
5(M) OF SAID ARTICLE AND TO ENACT NEW SUBSET
TION 5(M) IN LIEU THEREOF; TO REPEAL SECTION 16
OF SAID ARTICLE; AND TO ADD NEW SUBSECTIONS 8(E)
AND 8(F) TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SUBSEC-
TION 8(D), PROVIDING FOR THE REDEFINITION OF THE
WORD "AREA" AS USED IN SAID ARTICLE; PROVIDING
FOR THE INCLUSION OF CERTAIN AREAS OF ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY AND OF BALTIMORE COUNTY IN THE
METROPOLITAN TRANSIT AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR
THE APPOINTMENT AND TENURE OF MEMBERS OF THE
AUTHORITY; REPEALING CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR
THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; REVISING THE PRO-
VISIONS RELATING TO THE ELECTION AND TENURE OF
THE CHAIRMAN OF THE AUTHORITY; THE REDEFINING
OF THE QUORUM NECESSARY TO MEETINGS OF THE
AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR EMERGENCY PROCE-
DURES BEFORE THE ADVISORY COUNCIL OF SAID AU-
THORITY; PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CER-
TAIN CONDITIONAL LOANS OR GRANTS; REVISING CER-
TAIN DEFINITIONS AS APPLIED TO TAXICABS; AMEND-
ING THE PROVISIONS RELATING TO CERTAIN ACQUISI-
TIONS BY SAID AUTHORITY; DEFINING PROHIBITED
CONDUCT OF CERTAIN PERSONS CONNECTED WITH SAID
AUTHORITY; AMENDING THE LAWS RELATING TO CER-
TAIN TAXES UPON COMPANIES SUBJECT TO SAID AU-
THORITY; PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN HEARINGS BEFORE
EXAMINERS; PROHIBITING CERTAIN EMERGENCY SERV-
ICE IN THE EVENT OF CERTAIN LABOR DISPUTES; AND
RELATING GENERALLY TO THE METROPOLITAN TRAN-
SIT AUTHORITY CREATED BY CHAPTER 670 OF THE
ACTS OF 1961.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 2(b), 5(a) and (i), 6(b), 10(h), 12(c), 14(c)
and 14(n) of Article 64B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962
Supplement), title "Metropolitan Transit Authority", be and they are
repealed and re enacted, with amendments; and that Section 16 of

the said Article and Code be and it is hereby repealed. THAT SEC-
