Board. The members of said Board shall consist of the following:
One member shall be selected from a list of persons proposed by the
Allegany-Garrett Counties Volunteer Firemen's Association. One
member shall be selected from a list of persons proposed by the
Maryland Fire Underwriters Rating Bureau and/or the Middle De-
partment Association of Fire Underwriters. Three members who
shall be appointed by the County Commissioners, shall have actively
engaged in the electrical business in Allegany County for at least
five years and who are residents and registered voters of Allegany
County at the time of such appointment. The members of said
Board shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed from time
to time by the County Commissioners, which said compensation shall
be paid from the fees collected for licenses, permits, inspections or
otherwise under this section.
(d) The County Commissioners shall keep in a separate book all
rules, regulations and restrictions adopted by them from time to
time under the authority of this subtitle, and any amendments or
supplements thereto, and shall cause copies to be printed and made
available for general distribution. Any such printed copy, together
with any amendments and supplements, when certified as accurate
by the Clerk to the County Commissioners, shall be deemed prima
facie evidence thereof in any judicial proceeding in the State.
(e) Any violation of regulations adopted pursuant to this sub-
title shall be a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty
days, or both. Any person who shall violate such regulations and
restrictions shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for every
day that such violation shall continue.
(f) The provisions of this title SUBTITLE shall not apply to any
electric light company, electric railway company, steam railway com-
pany, telegraph, television cable or telephone company, nor to persons
performing electrical work for such companies where said electrical
work is an integral part of the plant or service used by such company
in rendering their authorized service to the public; AND THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE DO NOT APPLY TO PERSONS
WORKING ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY OR ON PROPERTY IN
WHICH THEY HAVE AN OWNERSHIP INTEREST. ALSO, THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE DO NOT APPLY TO A PER-
SON WHO IS WORKING ON A JOB OR PROJECT FOR WHICH
HE WILL RECEIVE COMPENSATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) OR LESS; PROVIDED
THAT ALL SUCH WORK DONE AT THE SAME LOCATION
WITHIN A PERIOD OF SIXTY DAYS SHALL CONSTITUTE ONE
SUCH JOB OR PROJECT, AND THE TOTAL COMPENSATION
RECEIVED THEREFOR SHALL BE ADDED TOGETHER FOR
THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER THE PROVI-
SIONS HEREOF SHALL APPLY.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any provision of this
subtitle or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is
held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or
any other application of this subtitle which can be given effect with-
out the invalid provision or application, and to this end the pro-
visions of this subtitle are declared to be severable.
