AN ACT to repeal Sections 512, 514, 515, 516, 517, 517A, 518, 519,
520, 521, 522, 524, 525, 526, 528, 529, 530, 531, 532, 536 and 540 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edition,
being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Wicomico County," subtitle "Urban Service Districts," as
amended by Chapters 280, 281, and 282 of the Acts of 1961, AND
AS SECTION 517A THEREOF WAS ENACTED BY CHAPTER
279 OF THE ACTS OF 1961, and to enact in lieu thereof
new Sections 512, 514, 515, 516, 517, 518, 519, 520, 521,
522, 524 525, 526, 528, 529, 530, 531, 532, 536 and 540 to
stand in the place of the sections so repealed, generally amending
the laws concerning urban service districts in Wicomico County,
relating generally to the powers, duties, functions and responsi-
bilities of such districts, and concerning the several urban service
districts in Wicomico County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 512, 514, 515, 516, 517, 517A, 518, 519, 520, 521, 522,
524, 525, 526, 528, 529, 530, 531, 532, 536 and 540 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edition, being Article 23 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Wicomico
County," subtitle "Urban Service Districts," as amended by Chapters
280, 281 and 282 of the Acts of 1961, AND AS SECTION 517A
THEREOF WAS ENACTED BY CHAPTER 279 OF THE ACTS
OF 1961, be and they are hereby repealed, and that new Sections 512,
514, 515, 516, 517, 518, 519, 520, 521, 522, 524, 525, 526, 528, 529, 530,
531, 532, 536 and 540 be and they are hereby enacted to stand in the
place of the sections so repealed, all to read as follows:
512. Commission; members, organization, funds.
(a) Commission.—For the purpose of carrying out the provisions
of this subtitle, the urban service districts created under the author-
ity of this subtitle shall be under the jurisdiction of the County Com-
missioners of Wicomico County, or said County Commissioners, in
their discretion, may by resolution appoint a commission of five (5)
persons, two of whom shall be County Commissioners, and the
remaining three shall reside in Wicomico County, be resident tax-
payers of said county and qualified voters thereof. The members of
the Commission shall serve without salary, but upon voucher prop-
erly certified to, shall be reimbursed by said Commission for any
expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as such. The
term of each of the County Commissioner members shall be for two
