COUNTY OFFICE BUILDINGS AND PARKING FACILITIES for
Anne Arundel County is necessary.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That in order to properly im-
prove such facilities and expand them it is necessary for the County
to acquire title or other interests in land situate in the City of An-
napolis, to wit: All ALL OF THAT LAND PRESENTLY OCCUPIED
BY THE COUNTY JAIL AND IN ADDITION THERETO, ALL or
any part of that land property, not now owned by the County, situate
in the City of Annapolis and described as follows:

BEGINNING FOR THE SAME at a point on the easternmost side
of Calvert Street, said point of beginning also being the northwestern-
most corner of that conveyance from Margaret B. Wright to the
Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis, dated July 3, 1952,
and recorded among the Land Records of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, in Liber J.H.H. 694, Folio 440; thence from the point of
beginning so fixed and running with the easternmost side of Calvert
Street N 19°02'00" E. 357.65 feet to a point, said point being the
intersection formed by the easternmost side of Calvert Street with
the southernmost side of Northwest Street, thence leaving the afore-
said side of Calvert Street and running with the southernmost side
of Northwest Street S 47°40'00" E. 133.58 feet to a point which
marks the northeasternmost corner of that conveyance from Elsie
E. Smith, Widow to Jacob Blum and Fannie Blum, his wife, dated
August 24, 1945, and recorded among the Land Records of Anne
Arundel County, Maryland, in Liber J.H.H. 338, folio 159; thence
leaving the aforesaid side of Northwest Street and running with the
easternmost line of the aforesaid conveyance reversely and corrected
for grid North S 36°50'00" W. 63.17 feet to intersect the easternmost
line of the Anne Arundel County Jail property, thence S 19°33'00"
W. 94.62 feet to a concrete monument in the outlines of the Gotts
Court Parking Lot, thence with the outlines of said parking lot as
shown on a plat prepared by Edward Hall, III, dated October, 1952,
reversely S 19°33'00" W. 149.08 feet to a point, thence N 71°31'00"
W 101.24 feet to the point of beginning.

CONTAINING .804 acres more or less. According to a survey
and plat made by the Department of Public Works of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Board of County Com-
missioners or any officials of the County that the Board may here-
after, or from time to time designate is or are hereby authorized to
acquire on behalf of the County, and for the purposes described in
this Act, the fee simple interests or such other interests as the Board
may deem necessary or sufficient, in and to all pieces or parcels of
land and improvements thereupon, including all property, rights,
interests, easements and/or franchises necessary IN THE PROP-
ERTIES DESCRIBED IN SECTION 2 HEREOF. If the Board is
unable to agree with the owner or owners on the purchase price of
such land it shall forthwith notify the Solicitor for Anne Arundel
County who shall thereupon institute in the name of the Board of
County Commissioners the necessary legal proceedings to acquire by
condemnation the fee simple interests or such other rights, interests,
easements and/or franchises as the Board may deem necessary or
