IN ANY COUNTY OR ELECTION DISTRICT OF THE STATE,
THE COMMISSION MAY REDUCE THE DEER POPULATION IN
AREAS SUFFERING FROM CROP DAMAGE AFTER THOR-
OUGH INVESTIGATION SHOWS THAT SUCH ACTION IS
JUSTIFIED. THE METHOD OF REDUCING THE DEER POPU-
LATION SHALL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE COMMIS-
SION EXCEPT THAT WHEREVER FEASIBLE TRAPPING
SHALL BE PREFERRED. THE DEER WHICH MAY BE
TAKEN UNDER THIS PROVISION SHALL BE DISPOSED OF
BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMISSION AS HE MAY DEEM
ADVISABLE AND FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE STATE.

132A. The open season for hunting of partridge (quail) shall be

from November 15 of any year to January 31 of the year following.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 755
(House Bill 655)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(18)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1962 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial
Magistrates System," and to add new Sections 112(d) and 119(1)
to said Article of the Code, to follow immediately after Sections
112 (c) and 119 (k) thereof, respectively, relating to the compensa-
tion, duties and employers EMPLOYEES of the trial magistrates
and substitute trial magistrates in St. Mary's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(18) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Justices of the
Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments; and that new sections
112 (d) and 119(1) be and they are hereby added to said Article of
the Code, to follow immediately after Sections 112 (c) and 119 (k)
thereof, respectively, and to read as follows:

108.

(18) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit at Leonard-
town and who shall receive an annual salary of [$3,200.00] $5,000.00.
